With great respect for your membership in our community and trust in your active participation in the life of the village, it is with great pleasure that we invite you to formally join the Comunità Granducale Medicea. This is an extraordinary opportunity to become part of a centuries-old tradition, guided by the values of the New Medici Humanism under the aegis of H.R.H. Grand Duke Ottaviano de’ Medici of Tuscany, Titular Grand Duke of Tuscany and Grand Master of the Order of Saint Stephen.
Associative Qualifications in the Grand Ducal Medici Community
You can choose to register with the Register of Uniati Medicei, according to the following membership qualifications:
- United Resident: Recognizes citizens who, through their historical residence in the village, wish to participate actively in the life of the community, promoting humanistic values through participation in activities organized by local humanistic communities.
- Medici Supporter: Recognizes those who, despite not being long-time residents, wish to actively support the initiatives and projects of the Medici Grand Ducal community, collaborating in their growth and diffusion.
- Benemerito Supporter: It is reserved for those who, through their extraordinary commitment or their contributions to the community, are recognized as benefactors of the humanistic and cultural activities promoted by the Medici Grand Ducal communities.
Honors and Incentives for New Members
To encourage your formal enrollment in the Grand Ducal Medici Community, we are pleased to immediately offer you honors and distinctions directly from HRH Grand Duke Ottaviano de’ Medici of Tuscany.
1. Uniate Mediceo of +(Borough name)
- Every resident who formally enrolls in the Register of Uniate Medicei will receive the honorary title of “Uniate Mediceo di +(Borgo name)”, with the honorary treatment of “Gentile Signore”.
- To this title is added the honorary distinction of a pin with the Gonfalone Granducale Mediceo, a symbol of belonging to the grand-ducal community and the humanistic values it represents.
2. Generous Lord of +(Borough name)
- Those who have lived in the village for at least three generations and who carry out manual labor will be awarded the special honor of “Generoso Signore di +(Borgo name)”, with the honorific treatment of “Messere” for men, or “Madama” for women.
- These deserving individuals will also be awarded the Medicean Medal for Humanistic Merit, recognizing the value of their commitment to the community and the contribution they make to the village through their work.
Active Participation in Humanistic Activities
Being part of the Comunità Granducale Medicea means becoming part of a network of individuals and families who are committed to promoting and supporting the humanistic activities that make our villages special. By registering with the Albo degli Uniati Medicei, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in the initiatives organized by the members of the various humanistic communities, which include cultural, artistic, social and environmental projects.
By participating in these activities, you will help preserve and promote the values of beauty, libertas, nobilitas, humanitas and reason, which characterize the historical Medici legacy and which today guide our path towards a stronger and more cohesive humanistic community.
How to Sign Up
To formally register with the Albo degli Uniati Medicei and obtain your honorary title, we invite you to contact the General Humanistic Vicariate of Florence or to directly address the Humanistic Civic Council of your Borgo. We will be happy to guide you through the membership process and to illustrate how you can participate in the activities of the grand-ducal community.
